Wellbeing Services
“The rustic labourer feels more at ease in lodgings similar to his own, and is often prejudicially influenced by the bustle and excitement of a large hospital”
Dr Albert Napper, 1863
The spirit of Dr Napper’s original vision, to provide a small, welcoming space for the benefit of the local community, continues to thrive today. While the NHS medical centre has since moved next door, this historic cottage has found new purpose. It will now serve as a dedicated haven for wellbeing practitioners and those seeking support, growth, and connection.
Rather than focusing on medical treatment, this space champions holistic wellbeing across a range of areas:
- Mental and emotional wellbeing: From therapeutic services to counselling and support groups
- Children and young people’s wellbeing: School-based counselling, youth mental health workshops and more
- Physical wellbeing: Gentle practices such as yoga, Pilates and Tai Chi
- Workplace wellbeing: Sessions designed to support work-life balance and mental clarity
- Social wellbeing: Informal meetups like ‘Coffee and Chat’ groups, or local interest societies, whether your passion is history, languages, or creative writing
- Breathing space: there are some slots available for hybrid office work upstairs
Please note, as this is a heritage building with low ceilings and cosy rooms, it’s not suited to heavy gym equipment or high-impact activity.
