“To have a building that provides children with a past they can actually see and touch is invaluable”

Kate Pelazza, Headteacher, Cranleigh C of E Primary School, 2024

This isn’t a dusty old museum. This is a living, breathing venue that honours its proud past as a cottage hospital, while stepping boldly into its future as a community hub for wellbeing.

And here’s the exciting part, we’re opening our doors for hands-on tours like no other. Got a group of curious kids or intrigued adults? We’ve got room for small group tours of up to 15 people.

During your visit, you will discover the cottage is in fact a Time Machine. You’ll get to touch real old building materials, handle replica medical equipment (yes, safely) and experience a chillingly immersive 3-minute audio journey in the very attic room where operations once took place. A fascinating insight to early A&E!

For Schools

We bring the past alive with a Victorian-themed experience, aligned with Key Stage 2 of the National Curriculum. We invite students and teachers to dress up like Victorians and step back to the year 1863, when a brand-new railway was changing life in Cranleigh forever!

For Adult Groups

We offer a rich social history tour tracing the incredible growth of Cranleigh through the lens of this beloved community institution.
